Believe it or not, the 2017-2018 academic year is already coming to an end. Many annual events at T-D have already happened, including the Holiday Luncheon and the thematic trip to Albania. One event that many high school students look forward to is the prom.

The Class of 2018 has been planning prom since October, and the day is quickly approaching. Prom will be June 13, 2018 from 7:30-11:30 p.m. at the Fountainhead in New Rochelle, New York. This is the same venue as the Spring Gala, which will be held on Saturday, May 19, so many parents are familiar with this lovely hall. Tickets are $90 until May 23, 2018, but after that Wednesday, the price will go up to $100. The seniors need students to pay by May 23, so prom does not get cancelled.

Many students, especially the seniors, are looking forward to Prom.

“Prom is going to the best one yet, and it’s at such a beautiful venue,” says Senior Michael Stack.

While many high schools’ proms are only for the senior class, since Thornton-Donovan School is so small Grades 8-12 are all invited. This speaks to the closely knit and integrated T-D community.

Prom is a great reason for all of these grades to come together outside of the T-D campus.

Anisa Martin, a sophomore, said that “prom is always such a good time, and everyone should come to celebrate the end of the year.”
