This year, Thornton-Donovan School’s Gaming Club will organize the first edition of the T-D Gaming Tournament. Mr. Paris, head of the Gaming Club, gave us some interesting details about this event.

Q: So, Mr. Paris, where is this tournament going to take place?

“It will be taking place in the Freedom Hall [on]Tuesday, December the 19th, between 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., approximately, depending on how far we get in our tournament.”

Q: Who is invited to be a part of the Gaming Tournament?

“Everybody in this school from 6th-12th grade. We are going to try to keep this to the school only, $10 admission fee to come in, and $5 extra if anyone wants to play in the tournament. There will be pizza, drinks, snacks and other side games.”

Q: What games will be included?

“It will include ‘Just Dance’, ‘Call of Duty’, ‘Halo’, ‘Mario Kart’ and many other games. Also, there is a list of games in a form that is printed and will be distributed to every Middle and High School homeroom in the Morning Memo.”

Q: What are going to be the awards for the winners?

“We have trophies. There will be trophies for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. There might also be a Loser’s Trophy.”

Q: Who helped to make the idea of this event a reality?

“I have to give all the credit to Jordan Drew, he is my CEO. Miss Tal Steiner and Noelle Hanson have been working on our flyers, and Enzuri Roberts, Mat Yergo, Quincy Campbell, Danial Chaudhary, Aidan Stewart, and everybody else in the gaming club have been contributing to all of the necessary resources we need and the information we have been disseminating.”

The T-D Gaming Club will be hosting the event on Tuesday, December 19th to support a good cause.  50% of the tournament’s proceeds will be going towards suicide prevention programs, while the rest will be used to fund the development of  The Overlook Studio’s first official video game. The price to enter is $15, while the viewer’s fee is $10 which will allow one to watch, eat and play side games. We look forward to seeing you there!
