Emmys 2017: Top 4 Best Dresses

By: Amber Corbett, Staff Reporter

Just like any other award show, The Emmys brought together television actors and actresses in their best attire trying to shine on the red carpet and make the best dressed lists. With September being the month of fashion week events throughout the globe, silver screen stars have to work extra hard to impress the critics. The actors who graced the red carpet at this year’s Emmy Awards all deserve awards for dressing to impress, but here are the four that stood out the most:

Milly Bobby Brown

This Stranger Things actress wins the award for most age appropriate dress! The 13-year-old actress wore a Calvin Klein by appointment dress. Brown’s tea-length dress is reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn in the 1960s. Her bandana not only adds a touch of personality but also current street style.

Yara Shahidi

Yara Shahidi looks like a live-action version of Disney’s Princess Tiana. The Blackish star has on a custom Prada gown. Shahidi’s gown embodies femininity with nude tulle and ruffled shoulders, yet still manages to give the gown an edgy feel with the vibrant green embroidery.

Shailene Woodley

This Big Little Lies star dared to go with an unembellished gown this year at the Emmys. Shailene Woodley’s Ralph Lauren green velvet gown could stop traffic even without bling! The leather straps were all she needed to get the look a fun twist. Woodley impeccably dressed for the occasion with the two biggest trends of the season.

Claire Foy did not even need a dress to make it on the best dressed list. Foy, of Netflix’s The Crown, proved to critics that a jumpsuit can be extremely sophisticated and red carpet appropriate. Her Oscar De La Renta jumpsuit had just the right amount of embellishment and her cape really did make her look regal.
