Thornton Donovan had its annual Science Fair on March 22nd and 23rd with over twenty four participants. Many parents, students, teachers and even the headmaster, Mr. Fleming, came to support the participants. This year’s Science Fair was hosted by science teachers Dr. Allen and Dr. Hellge and had different projects from Making Soap to How to Identify DNA Using Electrical Currents.

Dr. Allen, one of the judges in the science fair, told The Overlook Journal, It was an enlightening experience, most of the participants were very prepared and had many fascinating topics.  Dr. Hellge and I will get together and once she has completed her scoring of the event, we will pick out the winners. Until then we are on stand by. “

One of the Participants, 9th grader Kristen Narain described her experience to The Overlook Journal, “My project was on genetic engineering for my biology class. [The Science Fair] was nerve-wrecking but very exciting. All the presentations were amazing in their own way. At the end of the day I was satisfied knowing I did the best I could. The most important thing is that I had fun.”

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Science Fair. The Overlook Journal thanks the parents and the participants for allowing this fun event to happen at Thornton Donovan.
